Before You Begin
- I confirm that I have downloaded the latest version of the addon.
- I am not playing on a private server.
- I checked for an existing, open ticket for this request and was not able to find one.
- I edited the title of this feature request (above) so that it describes the issue I am reporting.
Feature Request
preface: I am in the minority of players that uses a controller due to an injury. I apologize if this is already possible, but I was not able to find it in the settings. This is a low priority request but I figured I would ask.
Since WoW has added gamepad support, it's entirely possible to use the default UI and rebind keys comfortably with any controller. I personally never play without the Hekili addon. The issue is that I can only see accurate key bindings if I am using the consoleport addon. Attempting to use Hekili without the Consoleport addon enabled provides generic binds such as "PAD5" rather than the expected "X" or "A" for an XBOX controller.
By enabling controller support with /Console GamePadEnable 1, the game does show the correct bindings on my action bars but Hekili shows generic keybinds like I previously mentioned.
Possible solutions:
- Implement the ability for Hekili to recognize the gamepad and display the keybinding without the use of the consoleport addon.
- Implement the ability for Hekili to recognize that gamepad is enabled, and read the correct keybind from the interface
- Implement the ability for users to input a custom text overlay for an icon rather than the keybind
Workaround:
I was able to disable the consoleport action bar specifically in the addon which solves the problem. Hekili still recognizes the keybinds through the addon as expected.
