[REC] Frost Mage when casting Glacial Spike on last Winter's Chill addon recommends Ice Lance

  • I checked for an existing, open ticket for this issue and was not able to find one.
  • I edited the title of this issue (above) so that it describes the issue I am reporting.
  • I am reporting an issue with the default priority included with the specialization (imported or edited priorities are not supported).

Describe the Issue

Like in the title, when casting Glacial Spike on last Winter's Chill addon recommends Ice Lance.

From my testing, pausing when it happens shows that addon thinks the value of remaining_winters_chill is still 1 when Glacial Spike is in flight or while casting.

I've put Hekili:Print(remaining_winters_chill) inside reset_precast and saw that it reports 0 when snapshot was taken yet paused action was showing value of 1 (screenshot above)

Additionally I have question, shouldn't addon also reduce remaining_winters_chill while we are casting Winter's chill spender (Frostbolt, Frostfire Bolt, Glacial Spike) spell for smoother recommendations ?

Because even after fixing the above problem, we will still have suggestions from addon as follows:

  1. We have 5 Icicles and 1 Winter's Chill; addon suggests Glacial Spike.
  2. We start casting Glacial Spike.
  3. Addon recommendation switches to Ice Lance while we're casting Glacial Spike (remaining_winters_chill value is still 1 and will be reduced only after the Glacial Spike cast is finished).
  4. Glacial Spike cast finished, and Glacial Spike is in flight (remaining_winters_chill value is now 0).
  5. Addon will switch from suggesting Ice Lance to a different spell (Frostfire Bolt, Flurry, etc.).

How to Reproduce

We're aiming to get:

  • no Fingers of Frost buff
  • Flurry on CD
  • Comet Stom on CD
  • 5 Icicles
  • 1 Winter's Chill debuff on the target

Steps to reproduce

  1. Disable CDs (for easier issue reproduction)
  2. cast 5 Frostfire Bolts go get 5 Icicles
  3. use all of your Fingers of Frost buffs and Flurry charges and Comet Storm
  4. at this point we should have 5 Icicles, 2 Winter's Chill debuffs on the target, no FoF and no Flurry available
  5. cast single Ice Lance (Winter's Chill debuff is now 1)
  6. start casting Glacial Spike
  7. addon will suggest Ice Lance untill Glacial Spike hits the target

Winter's Chill is consumed on impact not cast, so Ice Lance can be used if queued almost immediately after Winter's Chill. Unless something has changed, double-dipping on Frozen effects is part of the magic of Ice Lance.
