Before You Begin

  • I confirm that I have downloaded the latest version of the addon.
  • I am not playing on a private server.
  • I checked for an existing, open ticket for this issue and was not able to find one.
  • I edited the title of this issue (above) so that it describes the issue I am reporting.
  • I am reporting an issue with the default priority included with the specialization (imported or edited priorities are not supported).

Spec

DK - Unholy

Describe the Issue

1.0.4 unholy dk defile not recommended in aoe
Seems to happen when difile maxcharges and unholy_assault are available.

Doesn't happen when staking, mostly happens in M+ similar to Priory of the Sacred Flame will prioritize festering_strike cycle_target and so on when there are archers, and will not recommend defile, resulting in never being able to enter the burst phase.

How to Reproduce

Since this happens when moving long distances into a fight and there's a remote hostile target

Snapshot (Link)

https://pastebin.com/UqzYhaqn
It's the first batch of monsters in the Theater of Pain dungeon, the witch area, and basically all of my skills are available, but defile is never recommended, resulting in a 10+ target AOE with only 130M dps

https://pastebin.com/cBWntyfp
It's Priory of the Sacred Flame

Maybe I'm wrong here but I'm pretty sure this issue is all because Hekili bursts throughout the entire DnD duration. simc apl goes into aoe setup after 10 seconds (during the extended 4 seconds of dnd). Confirmed by the simc apl dev. I also see the issue you're having, having edited my own version to follow simc apl it defiles perfectly fine. It's prob stuck in aoe setup cus it's not pre aoe setuping. Pretty sure it's an easy fix if they still want to follow how Hekili does burst throughout the entire dnd and not follow simc method.
Maybe I am cooking here but I do believe it's because hekili isn't 100% following simc where it should be doing aoe setup during the last 4 seconds of DnD which you can see in the damage breakdown on html of a simc and confirmed by the dev once again.

EDIT: SIMC - "it will only go into aoe setup when defileis no longer "ticking" aka, down on the ground. the 4s leway buff is still up, so cleaving strikes is still possible, but, it starts to focus on generating runes before the next defile drops."
The way hekili does it is that ticking means the entire 14 seconds counting for the 10+4.

It doesn't sound connected to the issue but I believe it is. After having edited it myself, it defiles properly for me. Or at least it's a separate issue seeing as Hekili is intended to follow the simc which it doesn't for that part and will create separate ticket if needed.

I also confirm that I did not find any defile issues: you are not supposed to use the 2nd defile until your cleaving strike buff is over. You never spam defile one after the other right away because you waste your vamp strike cleave buff uptime by extra 8s.

Try reinstalling the addon just in case it's an individual issue but there's definitely nothing wrong with defile uptime in the latest version

It wasn't any of that; but it's fixed for next release.
