Inventorian does not work in Classic Era (3.4.1.1)

The Inventorian bag interface does not replace the default Blizzard bag interface even though the addon is activated.
This is seen in the most recent version 3.4.1.1. See also a similar report for version 3.4.1.0.
Are there any simple fixes to this?
