I set the render distance to 100 in cvars, but the nameplates will not render past 30. Sometimes it even gets worse and sets itself to 5 automatically. When that happens the only thing i can do to set it back to default is reset the options.

This is a limitation of classic. Add-ons can't change the nameplate render distance.

well a exploit can do it. use 4.5e1 to get 45 yards nameplate distance.
