I set the color of the name text to red for enemies and white for allies. Sometimes enemies' names are still shown as white. I can't really tell when this happens and couldn't reproduce it so far; but maybe it has something to do with mind control in specific cases.

I'd personally really like to be able to modify more than just the name color based on whether the unit is an enemy or a friend. The shadowy backdrop would be a nice indicator for example.
