Funk suggested I open a ticket about this so that it eventually gets sorted out.

Right now by disabling the "Messages" box on an ability you also disable the BW sounds tied to that ability. It would be really handy if there was a way to disable the Messages separately from the sounds to reduce the visual clutter but still leave the audio cues in. Cheers!
