This seems to be a cross between libdbicon and libdatabroker on how this is saving.

If the value is not changed, the profile is left empty - which causes an issue with libdbicon. Because this ends up nil, and not saving the value to the config db. If something is put int the same table (e.g. minimap hide or icon) and the value is changed for either of those, it will fix the issue with minimapPos.
