Currently, you can't shift click items into chat and send them, except into the "say" channel if I remember correctly. When used via trade or guild or raid nothing is sent with the item link that was clicked from the ludwig window.

Jus checked it out, it's working fine. In fact, te functionality is handled by the default UI, so it would be weird to not work properly.
