Which software were you running?

  • Addon version name: 10.0.1
  • Client used: 3.4.3.52237 Wrath and 1.15.0.52409 Classic Era

Have you read the changelog?
Yes!

Please describe the bug.
The search using the /lw <name> command does not work.

Please describe how to reproduce it.
Find an item name you are sure is accurate, and that you may even possess (example: Runecloth)
Type /lw Runecloth for an exact search
You will get a result that "Ludwig: "runecloth" is an unknown command.

Any Screenshots?
If applicable, please add screenshots to help explain your problem.

I believe that /lw <name> is an example given, but following this format does not work either (and is a bit confusing).

Error Logs are Important!
Type /console scriptErrors 1 in the chat and reload the game. If an error window appears when reproducing the bug, please write here the first message (labelled 1/Many) that appeared. ⚠️ By default, the last error message is shown, not the first! You need to navigate back to the first error.

No Lua errors. Addon in /lw capacity works as expected, including the /lw command to open the search, which the addons window also seems to function correctly.

What you've copied there (/lw &lt;name&gt;), probably from CurseForge, is garbage. This was meant to be \lw <name>, which means 'type \lw, followed by a space, followed by the item name'.

This is not the fault of the addon author, it's CurseForge's Markdown renderer that is broken since years, and they obviously have no intentions to fix their lousy site. (I've opened 2 tickets over the last year.)

That being said, the proposed syntax (\lw <name>) doesn't work for me either. The only two things that work for me are:

  • \lw to open the Search window.
  • Creating a link with lw:<partial name>, followed by the Tab key when the autocompletion kicks in (as correctly described here)

But I fear this addon is dead anyway, since the DF data is still missing, and now we're almost at the end of DF…

The database was last updated in September 2022, as you can see here.
