When I hover mouse cursor over pet icon in Pet Journal (one above 3D pet model, in top-center point of window), I see information how to obtain given pet - e.g. "Pet Battle: Deepholm". However this information is missing in popups which appears when hovering over pet in Auction House, bags, bank, and after clicking on links posted in chat. Because of this I have no idea if I it would be wise to buy pet or nor - e.g. it is cheaper to buy pet from vendor, than from AH, or do some quest.

I found this: https://us.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/20757266278. This works for AH, bags and bank. Unfortunately it does not work for links in chat. It also incorrectly increases height of popup, so often only top part of information is visible. This happen for many pets, e.g. for Toxic Wasteling.

Last issue also may be some conflict with some addon, I did not try to verify this. I use following pet addons: PetBattle Teams, PetTracker, Rematch, Rematch_TSMPetValues.
