Advanced Expression filtering Mages not working

From looking at the reference sheet for the advanced expressions, the below query seems to still return groups with mages.

hoa or top and mages == 0

Have also tried

hoa or top and dps_mages == 0

Still returns groups where a mage is present.

Sorry, literally first post in your FAQ addresses this with use of bracket. Can confirm working. Sorry!
