We only show 3 dots for where this pendant can drop. It's roughly the right area, but it's not the "good spots" where there are a high concentration of the mobs needed. Let's adjust the locations of these crab people. (=

This is due to the quest being picked up in Stranglethorn and done in Dustwallow.
Icon cluster gets higher the further away from the NPC an objective icon is drawn.
This is to not clutter the map far away from the NPC.
Here's an example:

Not sure this can be easily fixed without breaking that design choice
