After updating from the last Classic version to v3-bcc, all my settings have been reset to default values.

I still have a backup of my SexyMap.lua and .bak files but copying the files to the WTF folder does not change anything. Do I have to recreate my older map settings or is there a way to restore previous settings?

The update brings it in line with the retail version of the addon, so this update is essentially 2 years worth of updates from live, and no longer uses separate options. I have no real interest in supporting the addon outside of bugfixes, so no "upgrading" for old settings will be added.
