DBM integration not working?

So maybe I'm a noob and don't know how its supposed to work, but I had toggled on the option to use DBM to help with waypoints, but I couldn't tell if it did anything the next time I targeted a rare. I didn't see anything DBM pop up or show up when the SD alert came. What should this look like?

Does it conflict if you have the TomTom integration also enabled? Cause I didn't see the Tom Tom arrow update either. I noticed you can have both the DBM and the TomTom box checked, but do they cancel one another out?

Thanks that's good info to have! I did want to ask you a general question about how the TomTom waypoint integration is supposed to work. Sometimes I see it pop up, sometimes I don't, so I was wondering about the logic. Does it only show up if you haven't already targeted something (like you describe for DBM above)? And if you already have a waypoint arrow showing for something else, will it 'overwrite' and show the rare mob arrow temporarily (I didn't see it do this, but it could be because it didn't actually trigger for SD).

Sadly the only consistent rare I've tested on lately is Rukhmar and it could just be that the game doesn't 'see' the rare fast enough on its own, so I only ever trigger it with a mouse-over. If I trigger the SD popup by mouse-over/target, I'm guessing that beats out DBM/TomTom interaction/causes those not to work for the reason you mentioned above about coords?

If you're in modern content, and are dealing with rares exclusively, it'll pop up quite reliably. It's when you're dealing with mobs that I have to look for in non-vignette ways that it gets inconsistent -- notably, world bosses even in modern content tend to have to be detected through targets / nameplates.

Thus, Rukhmar is a bad example for this, as it doesn't have a vignette either. So it's in the camp of mobs that you'll never see the arrow for unless you're in a group and one of your groupmates sees it first (in which case the arrow will point at said groupmate).

For TomTom if you already have a waypoint showing, SilverDragon will add one to the top of its queue -- TomTom will then restore the previous one when the SilverDragon one is resolved (either by timing out or by you getting close enough to it). For DBM, it can only have one waypoint at a time and doesn't expose any information about the previous one, so it's just completely overwritten.

Amazing, thank you for the detail, that helps a lot. Its wonderful to have a developer be this responsive to questions. I really appreciate it :).

The most likely issue is that it'll only try to make a waypoint if the alert came from a source that can actually tell us where the mob is. I.e. if there's a vignette (map star) for it -- Blizzard doesn't allow addons to get coordinates for targeted mobs. This means that if you've just targeted a non-vignette mob, it doesn't know where to point to.

I've just slightly expanded which sources will trigger it, so it'll do a little better when it's triggered from group members.

If you have both enabled, it'll try to make an arrow in both.
