In 7.2 blizz added a feature to highlight spells on your bar by hovering over it in the spellbook.

The spellbook spells would also glow if you hadn't assigned it to a bar.

neither affect appears present.

Is this a design choice or something we missed?

I think it's due to the way the API overwrites frames/windows/buttons. I'll see what I can do about this.
