    • Wanted to chime in to suggest a request for mob name abbreviations. I see streamers and friends using ElvUI or TidyPlates with this feature, and knocking off the common first-words of mob names seems SO nice for reducing the clutter and finding the right mob in the AOE piles in M+ dungeons.
    • For example, abbreviating or eliminating all the "Forsworn" names in SoA
      • Forsworn Mender
      • Forsworn Goliath
      • Forsworn Vanguard
      • Forsworn Castigator, etc
    • Being reduced down to
      • F. Mender
      • F. Goliath etc
    • Or even just
      • Mender
      • Goliath etc

  • Instead of cutting the end off of the name with a ".....", it's better to abbreviate the first word. For example, John Smith would be come J. Smith.
  • Red Angry Dragon would be come R. A. Dragon. The only part of the unit name that anybody cares about is the last word of the name.
  • This is much cleaner and looks nicer than having the unit name just end with Red Angry Dr.....
  • Make sense? ElvUI has this option built in, as does Plater and other name plate addons.

    • To my question though, I recently saw that some players (especially in the M+ crowd) are using nameplate mods that typically only list the final noun of a mob's name. For example, a pull with "Spriggan Barkbinder" and "Spriggan Mendbender" mobs would display "Barkbinder" and "Mendbender" to the client. This lends to a cleaner appearance that is instantly readable during chaotic pulls.
    • Are there any plans to add this sort of feature to Threat Plates? I have no idea how much work would be involved, but assuming that it's a feasible task I would like to make a formal request. Such a feature (with a whitelist exception option for particular mobs) would make the addon absolutely perfect for my purposes.
