Hi all!,

I used threatplates for a week or so, loved it. All of a sudden without any change I can remember doing it is non-functional.

It loads properly, without lua errors, everthing seems fine -- just no plates.

I have tried reinstalling multiple times, used past and the beta versions, wiped saved variables -- nothin.

I did notice that it has at least some effect, because the automation feature turns Blizzard's Unit Nameplates on and off with combat.

I really dug this addon -- any help is appreciated.

Thank you for your response!

Yes, Blizzard plates are shown after tp is disabled. /tptp works as well. Upon messing with it a bit more it is mostly working now (not sure what I changed that made the difference.

Now the plates are only showing when in 15-20 yards of the entity, and I can't seem to find a setting that controls that.

Hm, this sounds more like this isn't a bug, but you might have disabled nameplates by chance, especially as automation works. You can two things to test that:

  • Check that all nameplates are enabled under General - Visibility
  • After you disable Threat Plates, are Blizzard nameplates shown?
  • Normally, when there is an internal error, you cannot option the options as well with /tptp. Does that work?

Resetting the saved variables does not work in this case as nameplate visibility is not stored in the profile, but in CVars (which are not part of the saved variables, but WoWs native variable storage, so to say).

There is a CVar for that (maxDistance). You can set that under General - Blizzard Settings. Not sure which tab there.

Could it be that you enabled Automation in a way, that nameplates are hidden out of combat, but only shown in Combat?
