Considering toolbar buttons icons can be updated once every half-second, it could be nice to have the icon changing when you have a stash/drop near you without needing to open the dropdown to check (and close/open if you're not close enough).

This will need an analysis on the performance impact of such a feature depending on how many stashes/drops you have.

I am intending to revamp the toolbar system to use a more modern approach (and fix important optimization issues, such as code running in some OnUpdate scripts) in a near future. But I don't have an exact estimation of when and this ticket could be done before the system is re-implemented.
