I think it could be quite useful is you could query the "durability" of an item in the inventory.

Also I would like to have durability also for items that are not containers and even make it visible somehow.

If "durability" could be visualized in items in general that would be great.

Ok for query durability of container.

For the global durability, it can be done with variables and variables tags in the "Left/right tooltip". I don't think we need a dedicated mecanism for that. :)
