On version TrinketMenu-10.0.2-Classic and while in combat:
If a trinket is selected from the menu it won't display that it is 'queued' with a small icon on the top corner of the button until leaving combat.

The selected trinket will however change once out of combat.

This used to be a feature in past versions.
