I watch everything at 175% speed and anything slower bores me. Until a tempo option is available I can't see myself ever using this.

WoW's Addon API doesn't and will probably never support this. Any solution will require something external.

The most straightforward solution would be to run ffmpeg on the samples to speed them up then recompute the sound length table using the python script.
