It allows you to visually see which spells can be used, it's quite useful.

With weak aura, there seems to be the same reaction, but only for silencing effects in specific schools of magic.
I think it would be very interesting, even more for some PVP players for example, to transcribe the way of doing Blizzard, so that the display of spells is even more dynamic and coherent.
