all WA and plater profiles were erased

Description
As title suggests all my WA and plater profiles erased themselves - I loaded into game, went into plater profiles to change it and upon reload of UI I got the following errors. The LUA and .bak files in ACCOUNT/xxxx/SavedVariables now read as 1kb.
Even the default group templates are missing.

Just wondering if anyone knows what might have happened, and if the profiles are recoverable. Absolutely devastated :'( so many hours of work.
Haven't updated WA2 on retail since the last time playing. Althoug have updated WA for TBC classic.

Reproduction Steps
- Opened Plater Profiles
- Selected new Profile
- automatically asked If i wanted to reload UI
- click "yes"
- Four LUA errors greeted me & profiles gone.
