Atlas-Centaur was an American expendable launch system derived from the SM-65 Atlas D missile. Vehicle consised of an Atlas first stage and a Centaur second stage. Vehicle was used in Ranger, Mariner, Gemini, Lunar Orbiter and many Military programs. Vehicle then evolved into Atlas I. The vehicle operated out of Launch Complex 36A and 36B at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and Space Launch Complex 3-E at Vandenberg Air Force Base.
