This rather large Ship/Lander/Station was designed to land on most moons, gather ore, and then take off again.   It is designed to conform to almost all space station requirements so you can complete those missions with these as well.   The lander portion holds a LOT of fuel and with the nuclear engines, you can get a ridiculous amount of delta V per load.   Great for research as well with a fully functioning science lab, and you can land and get surface samples and science. Great for refueling ships before they head on out to the rest of the solar system. Great for fueling depots at the far reaches since they also include relays.   You can also use it to gather stranded Kerbals without significant fuel concerns, but you will need to launch a return vehicle to transfer them to since it is not designed to land again on Kerbin.  I have never seen the need, but it also docks well and could be used to haul up fuel/ore from a moon to a much larger vessel/refueling station over multiple trips.

Taking off from Kerbin is a bit hard.   If you go stock only run full throttle till about 100m/sec then cut the engines to 5% until the boosters run out, then restart them again. I also recommend turning on RCS during ascent until you throttle back up.  If you go mechjeb, just set max Q to 6000.

This lands nicely on Minmus, can land on the mun and ike and most moons.. I have even landed it on Duna once, but it is NOT designed to do that...   I got back to ike after a refueling on duna with about 600 Delta V left, but it was an excessively difficult.  (You have to jettison most of your ore and turn on your nuclear engines only, make a stable 60KM orbit, then burn straight up till you have a 120KM apoapsis, then burn off your horizontal velocity until you you start falling again.  When that happens start burning against your surface velocity, and turn on your rocket engine to boost the nuclear engines... With a little skill and a bit of luck you can land on Duna like this)

Enjoy.
