Many spells produce fire particles when they shouldn't

Upon running fxdemo, it looks to me like the default particle became fire and that the proper particle isn't specified in the spells.
Was the default particle previously redstone perchance? (And is there any way to configure it?)
It does look like some time ago the code was refactored and we lost the correct default for ColoredImageEffect, possibly other effects.
I may revert that change but want to look at it some more.
In the meantime, you can always put particle: redstone
on an effect to use the redstone particle- hope that helps as a workaround for now!
