WORLDGUARD-3745 - Reported by LordRazen

Since this is more a question on the intended behaviour I didn't add the server-details here.

The question is simple: The ice-melt deny flag should stop the regular ice from melting, but what's with ice made by frostwalker-boots which si intended to melt? Right now it doesn't melt, but I'm not sure if you are aware of this and want it that way...

the ice made by frostwalker boots isn't intended to melt though...?

Erm, sorry to correct you, but it IS intend to melt:

If you walk over water with those boots in daylight, the ice melts again quite quickly... o_O

hm i thought the new ice didn't melt. either way assuming the server throws events correctly this should now be fixed.

I'm confused. Adding FROSTED_ICE there would cancel the event, when the request is that it shouldn't cancel FROSTED_ICE thawing. Moreover, the ice-melt flag already doesn't cancel FROSTED_ICE from thawing. Maybe LordRazen tested this without the light level required to thaw FROSTED_ICE. I know that's tripped me up a couple times.

i thought that's what he was asking.

He says "Right now it doesn't melt", which is the best indication that he wants it to melt. FROSTED_ICE shouldn't be permanent. It was likely a light level issue with his test.

"He says "Right now it doesn't melt", which is the best indication that he wants it to melt. FROSTED_ICE shouldn't be permanent. " -> exactly what I wanted to say...

I am even more confused now..Worldguard wasn't preventing frosted ice from melting before i made that change...so it must have been light level or something else preventing it...
should I revert the change i made then?

on second thought - if someone specifically sets ice-melt to deny, i don't see the issue with preventing frost ice from melting, since they've specified that they don't want ice to melt in general.

FROSTED_ICE is designed to melt and should do so even in cases where a player is trying to preserve ice formations with ice-melt deny. This protects intended design. It is unlikely anyone would want to keep ice made from frostwalker boots. That's what regular ice is for.

¯\(ツ)/¯ idk what's going on

I can summarize with: no one requested this change and it should be reverted.

Yeah well... hm... strange. Will check again what caused my problems after my holiday, but thanks anways

ok, reverted behavior of the flag, marking as can't reproduce since pseudoknight's ice is melting fine (i think that's what it's supposed to do then?)

yes it's supposed to melt. Like I told - will update and test it soon, but since I go on holiday today and return in two weeks it'll take time ;)
