This project has moved to Planet Minecraft.
This data pack provides a new way to make level 1 enchanted books of the enchantment you choose. To create an enchanted book (Version 3+);
- Rename a Book (using an anvil) to have the same name as the enchantment you want (e.g. "Respiration", "Sharpness", "Mending", etc.), but note that only level 1 enchantments can be made (do not include the level notation in the naming of the book),
- If you've named the Book correctly, it will be converted into an Enchanted Book containing the same Enchantment for which the Book was named.
In version 1 and 2, the process is slightly different;
- Rename a Book (using an anvil) to have the same name as the enchantment you want (e.g. "Respiration", "Sharpness", "Mending", etc.), but note that only level 1 enchantments can be made (do not include the level notation in the naming of the book),
- Throw this renamed Book onto an Enchanting Table,
- Throw a piece of Lapis Lazuli onto the Enchanting Table,
- If you've named the Book correctly, particles will display & a sound will play, the Lapis will be consumed, and the Book will be converted into an Enchanted Book containing the same Enchantment for which the Book was named.
By default, treasure enchantments can't be obtained using this method. If you'd like to change that, you can find the config file within the data pack's .zip file at "data/cho_chant/functions/config.mcfunction".
If you're having trouble renaming books, check the official Minecraft Wiki page about Enchantments to make sure you're spelling them exactly as they should be. This data pack is case sensitive when it comes to detecting names, so make sure what you're written is exactly the same as the Enchantment names listed on the wiki. Also note that, as of publishing, this data pack only supports the English names for the Enchantments (if you'd like to provide me with text for the Enchantment names in another language, so this data pack can support that language, please contact me).
More information about data packs and how to use them can be found on the official Minecraft Wiki.
