Nothingness - Starting from almost nothing
Using a crafting station you can create a hammer and a sieve. The hammer will breakdown cobblestone to gravel and gravel to sand. The sieve will allow you to gather resources from various blocks.
World Creation:
Creates a new void overworld that has a biome, allows mobs to spawn and has weather. (The Void Superflat preset has no weather, biome or mob spawns)
- Click Create New World
- Name the world
- Click Creative Game Mode (the datapack will change this)
- Click More World Options
- Generate Structures Off, Allow Cheats On
- Click World Type: Superflat and Customize
- Click Presets
- Replace the text in the box with minecraft:air;minecraft:plains
- Click Use Preset
- Click Done
- Confirm settings then click Create New World
- Double tap space bar to fly as soon as you are in the world
- Open up your Minecraft Save Folder (Quick way is to hit Esc, Options, Resource Packs.., Open Resource Pack Folder, go up one level to Saves, then into your newly created world)
- Open the datapacks folder and copy the .zip file into the folder
- Once copied go back to Minecraft and type /reload in the console
Your first tree
Make 2 crafting tables and a barrel from your first logs. Throw a crafting table and barrel on top of the other crafting table to make a crafting station.
Crafting Station
The left 3x3 grid of the crafting station is used to craft hammers, sieves and other Nothingness specific items. The 6x3 grid on the right can be used for storage. Be aware that all items in the 3x3 crafting area are consumed during crafting, even if not part of the crafting recipe. Do not use the left 3x3 for storage.
Your first hammer and sieve
Once you have some cobblestone, you can craft a hammer in the crafting station. Make a stone pickaxe pattern in the 3x3 crafting area.
Once you have some cobblestone, you can craft a sieve in the crafting station. Make a stone shovel pattern on the left side of the 3x3 crafting area.
Your first resources
You can use your hammer at your cobble gen to mine the cobble into gravel. You can then place the mined gravel and use your sieve on the gravel to obtain various resources. The list of resources that you can obtain from blocks is listed below.
Hammer and Sieve upgrades
You can craft iron, gold and diamond hammers and sieves in the crafting station. These will last longer and mine faster than the stone versions but they do not give additional resources.
Additional dirt
- Combine dirt and gravel to make coarse dirt. Use a hoe on the coarse dirt to turn it into regular dirt.
- Full composers will produce dirt if left full after a random period of time
Additional water
- Glass bottles can fill a cauldron from you starting water source and a bucket can be filled from a full cauldron
- An empty cauldron has a chance of being filled up by rain
Additional lava
If you thrown 64 cobblestone and an empty bucket in a cauldron with a heat source under it (torch, lava, fire) you will get a bucket a lava in return
Clay
4 sand and 4 dirt around a bucket of water in a crafting table makes 8 clay blocks
Grass
Throw grass seeds obtained by sieving dirt on top of dirt
Mycelium
Throw ancient spores obtained by sieving sand on top of dirt
Podzol
- Throw exotic seeds obtained by sieving sand on top of dirt
- Grow a 2x2 spruce tree to turn the surrounding dirt/grass to podzol
Spider Web - (required for Passive Safari Nets and Hopper Tech spawner)
- 8 string around a spider eye in a crafting table makes a spider web
Crafting Station mechanics
- Left 3x3 grid is for crafting - gets cleared during crafting - do not store items here
- Right 6x3 can be used for storage - does not get cleared during crafting
- Pickaxe pattern in the 3x3 grid crafts stone, iron, gold or diamond hammers
- Shovel pattern in the left column of the 3x3 grid crafts stone, iron, gold or diamond sieves
- Angry doll - 5 Blaze powder in an X pattern, an Emerald in the top center slot, Glowstone in the middle left and right row slots and Nether Wart in the bottom center slot
- Creepy doll - 5 clay balls in an X pattern, an Emerald in the top center slot, Lapis Lazuli in the middle left and right row slots and an Ink sac in the bottom center slot
- Scary doll - 5 bones in an X pattern, an Emerald in the top center slot, Coal in the middle left and right row slots and Nether Wart in the bottom center slot
- End Portal Block - Top row of 3x3 grid, 1 obsidian, 1 infused nether brick, 1 obsidian - 12 End Portal Blocks required for End Portal activation. Stand in one place and circle around when placing for correct layout
Cauldron mechanics
- Empty cauldron above heat source and 64 cobblestone and a bucket produces a lava bucket
- Full cauldron of water above cobblestone or stone brick turns to mossy versions in a 3x3 area
- Full cauldron of water and and a ice crystal will turn the water to a snow block
- Full cauldron of water above mycelieum turns to Witch water after a period of time
- Full cauldron of Witch water above sand turns to soul sand in a 3x3 area
- Full cauldron of Witch water and a clay ball spawns a small slime (required for Hostile Safari Nets and Hopper Tech spawner)
- Full cauldron of Witch water and a Creepy doll will spawn an Enderman
- Full cauldron of Witch water and a Angry doll will spawn a Blaze
- Full cauldron of Witch water and a Scary doll will spawn a Wither Skeleton
- Full cauldron of Witch water and a chicken egg, Nether wart and a Ghast tear will give you a turtle spawn egg (required for a Hopper Tech spawner)
Hopper Tech machines - If available these machines can be crafted in the Hopper Tech Machine Table. Place collection hoppers the same as other Hopper Tech machines.
- Automatic Cobble Gen - 1 lava bucket, 1 hopper, 1 furnace, 1 clock and 1 ender pearl. Place a water bucket in slot 1 and coal/charcoal/blaze rods in slot 5
- Automatic Hammer - 1 Undamaged Diamond hammer, 1 hopper, 1 furnace, 1 clock and 1 ender pearl. Input cobblestone or gravel in slot 1 and coal/charcoal/blaze rods in slot 5
- Automatic Sieve - 1 Undamaged Diamond sieve, 1 hopper, 1 furnace, 1 clock and 1 ender pearl. Input gravel, sand, dirt, coarse dirt, clay or soul sand in slot 1 and coal/charcoal/blaze rods in slot 5
