DIS is Desert Improved Survival
Logo is temporary lol I had to pick a random screenshot to get this page in place
This mod is based on some ideas I've had whilst trying to play Minecraft in desert biomes. I figured that survival would be difficult, but unless you find a village, it's really hard! You can't make basic tools without wood, and you can't mine stone without the wooden tools. With these additions, it's still as hard as you might think that surviving in a desert would be, but actually possible to get started. I've only tested it in single player so far, not running on a server, so not sure if that will work.
I hope you enjoy it and find it useful, too!

FAQs!
Why bonemeal? Well, it kind of fit, since bonemeal is already used in the game to "give life" to dirt, grass, plants and saplings. So DIS basically makes it also add life to lifeless things like a stick or some sand. It's also not too cheap, since you do have to have it drop from skeletons, so you can't get too much too easily.
Cactus slice? I don't think I wanna eat that I don't think cacti actually work this way; they do hold some water in them though. So I kind of pretend this could be a thing by having them provide only 1 slice each. They are quite easy to come by (and farm more of) in the desert, so it works out for balance as well. Though I wonder if 2 slices per cactus block would be better; they already don't fill much of the hunger bar.
