Rain World Origins

Rain World Origins

This is a datapack, not a mod! It has to be located in your world's datapack folder.

Dependencies: Origins (Fabric) / Origins (Forge) and Pehkui.

This is being developed!

This datapack was made for Minecraft version 1.19. If you are trying to use this on another version that isn't 1.19 you will need to:
1) Edit the file “grab.json” of the Squidcada Origin, removing all mobs that are not compatible with your version.
Please note that anything below ~1.17.x will most likely need an internal rework of the Origins.

You can find an installation guide at the bottom of this page if you don't know how to install the datapack into your server or single-player world.

The Origins are available to download on GitHub separately, though it is recommended to download it from here!

Origins Information

This section includes information about all the Origins inside this datapack. There are currently only two origins right now.

Squidcada

Squidcadas are cuttlefish-like creatures that flutter across the regions they inhabit with its small wings.

(+) Climbing [Primary]: You are able to climb up any kind of wall, not just ladders.

(+) Bite [Secondary]: Once you grab an entity, you can use your secondary key to 'bite' them, dealing damage and feeding yourself greatly. If used against a player, it feeds and heals them.

(+) Fragile Wings [Space]: You can use your wings to flap around for a certain amount of time until you slowly descend with your Elytras. If you are carrying an entity or wearing armor higher than iron (Max iron helmet) you will not be able to flap, excluding chestplates, as equipping any type won't let you fly. If damaged enough, you won't be able to use your wings until you sleep.

(+) Grab [Right Click]: You can grab all not-so-heavy entities by SHIFT + right-clicking them. Right click to drop. Grabbed players will get 'grappled' and won't be able to escape unless they spam space bar.

(+) Cheating Death: When about to die, you survive with half a heart, in this state you cannot attack and must go back and sleep in a bed to recover. You can still, however, regenerate with potions or other means, though your wings will be gone until you sleep again. You also drop all of your hotbar items when cheating death.

(+) Safety Landing: You are used to landing from high distances, you won't take fall damage.

(+) Aerial Combatant: You deal substantially more damage while on your Elytra flight.

(/) Lil' Body: Squidcadas are little, you are 0.7 blocks tall.

(/) Wakeup: After sleeping for a night, you will recover from being incapacitated and fully heal when you wake up.

(-) Fragile: You have 3 less hearts of health than Humans.

(-) Carnivore: Your diet is restricted to meat, you can't eat vegetables.

(-) Large Appetite: You exhaust much quicker than others, thus requiring you to eat more.

(-) Unwieldy: The way your hands are formed provide no way of holding a shield upright.

(-) Downpour: You will take HEAVY damage while under the rain.

Leapzard (Cyan)

The Cyan Lizard or Leapzard is a dangerous predator. Equipped with sticky tongues and the ability to launch themselves at high speeds after their prey.

(+) Climbing [Primary]: You are able to climb up any kind of wall, not just ladders.

(+) Lizard Tongue [Secondary]: You can aim and use your small tongue to pull an entity in a 9 block distance from you, dealing 1 heart of damage and applying debuffs. Yum!

(+) Energy Leap [Space]: You can use your space key while airborne to 'leap' for a certain distance, shifting reverses the direction of your leap but gives you more distance. If you leap too often, you will get tired and need to rest for a little!

(+) Clashing Air: You deal 30% more damage while airborne! (Jumping counts as being airborne).

(/) High Confidence: As confident as a Cyan can get, you won't take fall damage for 15 blocks, but will have increased fall damage after those 15! Fire and arrows also deal more damage, ouch.

(/) Particles: You emit particles, showing your enemies if you are damaged or tired.

(/) Balloon: You have a 15% chance to deflate like a balloon and jump everywhere when attacked. Weee…?

(/) BIG Body: As a lizard, you are 1.2 blocks tall.

(-) Downpour: You will take HEAVY damage while under the rain.

(-) Need for Mobility: You can not wear any heavy armor (armor with protection values higher than chainmail).

(-) Unwieldy: The way your hands are formed provide no way of holding a shield upright.

(-) Carnivore: Your diet is restricted to meat, you can't eat vegetables.
