About

Sohnich's (pronounced sonics's) Default Realism is an extension to Alvtron's R3DCRAFT Default Realism texture pack. It is a discontinued texture pack that takes the default look of Minecraft and enhances it for a better experience that doesn't take away from the traditional gameplay. Unfortunately this pack only supports x128 and below. I have not created textures for you x256 and above fans :(. You can learn more about the project on my full website here!

FAQ

What does extension mean?

R3DCRAFT Default Realism's latest version only supports Minecraft 1.8 Java Edition. Sohnich's Default Realism pack only includes the missing textures needed to make it compatible with the current version of Minecraft (v1.16.1). So the R3DCRAFT texture pack is still required for the full experience, which you can download FOR FREE here (if the main links do not work, use the link under Recent Files tab on the right side of the page)! Simply put both R3DCRAFT and Sohnich's Default Realism in your resource pack folder in the game!

Why does this exist?

Alvtron's R3DCRAFT has been my favorite texture pack for several years. I find most Minecraft texture packs out there not to be as good as the default texture pack. Since the project was discontinued, I took it upon myself and started adding my own default style textures with newer updates. Now that I've received permission to share my extension from Alvtron, I decided there may be others who'd benefit from these new textures!

Why is this a separate texture pack?

Although I have permission to share this as an extension to R3DCRAFT, it is by no means the same texture pack. I designed it with the attempt to mimic the style in the original R3DCRAFT to the best of my ability but it's still not the same. Additionally, it's an entirely separate project without collaboration, the two projects just work well together because I designed mine with that intention.

Can I donate?

I'm not looking for donations for this project, it's just something I wanted to do to enhance my gameplay and others. However if you insist on donating, I would prefer you to donate to Alvtron through CurseForge here since without his texture pack, none of this would come to be.

Lastly, it's a bit of a pain for me to do this but I understand that non-genuine posts are somewhat common on the internet. Here is a verification of Thomas' approval:

Quote from Alvtron >>

Hello,

Thank you for taking your time to write this request. Please, go ahead and share your work online. Just make sure to give me credit somewhere if you can. Good luck!

And thank you for taking your time to bring Default Realism to life in 1.15.

Sincerely,

Thomas Angeland

As I said before, this whole project could not be possible without his creation, so Alvtron deserves all the credit, enjoy!
