Vanilla Minecraft's ecosystems are great, but they can be a bit boring too. Real life ecosystems are filled with all sorts of weird, wild, and wonderful organisms, and this mod aims to bring some of that magic to Minecraft.

Rather than focus on adding in new biomes, I chose to focus on fleshing out the ones that already exist. With over 80 new animals, and 16 new plants and fungi, every biome has at least one new species only found there. There are new natural structures like watering holes or termite mounds in the savannah, or fallen trees, home to fungi, salamanders, and who knows what else in the dark forests.

New animals have been designed in a way to compliment Minecraft's existing animals. Many of them have plenty of unique behaviors as well. Puffins, for instance, will pick up cod from the sea to feed to hatchlings, but parasitic jaegers might pounce down and steal them! Each creature is more than just set-dressing, they each play a part in making the ecosystem feel whole.

On top of this, each creature has a role to play in survival mode. Moose, Ibex, Markhor, and Okapi can all be tamed and ridden, Species like killdeer and Aardvarks may be tamed so they can search for materials, and giving gold nuggets to coconut crabs may cause them to give marine goods to you!

And don’t worry, each creature has been balanced so that vanilla animals will still spawn, and many of them give goods similar to vanilla creatures. For instance, undyeable takin wool can still be used for making beds, but it’s more fire-resistant. Or, Pheasant eggs can be used in place of chicken eggs in making a cake.

There are currently two new “ores” introduced in this mod. Firstly, there is arsenic, which has mostly crafting-based uses. It can be dangerous to mine, so be careful! Next, there is fossil stone, which can result in a raw fossil. Putting a raw fossil into a regenerator block can give you several different types of fossils, which can then be combined with modern day animal goods to produce several different extinct animals. At the moment, there are only six fossil animals, Uintatherium, Europasaurus, Therizinosaurus, Dodo birds, the Tully Monster, and Mammoths, but there are plans to make more!

There are also over 60 new blocks, over 84 new items, and so many other things to discover! There's a bright pink guide included with this mod that provides all the information you'll need!

Blocks and Items

and there's a lot more to explore!

Some creatures are visible in the "images" tab, I recommend checking them out!

Here are four of the 80 creatures:

Aardvarks: Found in the savannah near termite mounds, these creatures can be tamed using termite products, and will forage for food. Different blocks and biomes may result in them finding different things.

Wombats: These odd-looking creatures poop in squares! They make little squeaking noises, and can even make dens on the badlands.

Cowfish: These small creatures are actually much closer to pufferfish, and they are very toxic. As they age, they'll become greener, and they love to eat seaweed.

Ibex: These goats will charge at you much like standard Minecraft goats, but they can also be tamed and ridden! While a little slower than a normal horse, they can jump rather high, and take no fall damage!

This mod was made with MCreator for Minecraft 1.16.5 and 1.15.2. I plan on adding in more creatures, so if you want to see more, let me know!
