Doubleing enchants

An idea of how to double enchants by breaking them into broken enchanted plates and then repairing them with NETHERRITE.

New items: A block where you break the plates. An item that breaks the plates. And the broken plates.

The example sent you last time was this: https://i.imgur.com/PCvik4Y.png

It should be available on CurseForge soon.
Let me know if you like it.

Nice! I love it!

How about using the smithing table to repair the plates?

commented

How about this?

I think it is an elegant solution as it does not add to many blocks and items that have just a single use.
It uses already existing mechanics.

Looks fun, but the stonecutter feels cheap?
The smithing table is perfect, i love it!

What if you do both actions in the smithing table? Breaking the template requires something else, i can't think of anything now except a breaking hammer.

commented

Why does it feel cheap? I think its perfect for cutting the enchantment in half.

Because a special tool to break the plates asks for a crafting. Using an amount of materials, also durability, thus in the future needing to replace it.

The stone cutter is already a must by default since it is the best building tool in the entire game. With the ability to break the plates or not, in a 1.15.+ world you already have a stone cutter.

That's why a new tool specially for breaking is imo the way to go. For example: Iron hammer breaking tool is the lowest you can craft (wood and stone do not exist) and it only has a durability of 5 or 10. It is pretty expensive but extremely worth.

I would agree in general, but the problem is, that this would just add an item that has only one feature. And modded players would confuse it with a hammer from other mods.
I mean it is already expensive enough with netherite

A good breaking tool would be a plier. No confusion with other mods. I made a placeholder if you want to use it: https://i.imgur.com/K1GrwVi.png

Alright. That texture looks nice!

Is this OK?
