Is This an Enhancement to a Preexisting Feature?

  • I confirm this request is an enhancement to a feature already in The Aether Genesis.

What Is Your Feature Request?

Basins are those strange patches of missing grass with exposed holystone that were rather common in GoTV.
They originally were a base minecraft feature, but seemed to be removed at some point (possibly 1.8?)
I personally find them to be one of my favorite features from GoTV, especially since you could find ores in them, so it would be very nice if they could be re-added.
At some point I can probably update this with screenshots of what they looked like as well (as of writing this, I don’t currently have access to my computer, so I can’t get any yet)

Why Should It Be in the Mod?

It was a feature that added character to GoTV (in my opinion at least), and while they no longer exist in Minecraft, they were a thing in GoTV, and I believe that they would be a very nice addition.

Does This Feature Improve Compatibility With Another Mod?

it seems that maybe these do still exist in minecraft, potentially rarer now (although I’m nearly certain that they were already more common in the Aether than in the overworld in GoTV), I could’ve sworn they were removed
They still don’t seem to spawn in the aether at the moment though, despite them apparently being able to spawn in any dimension (maybe that’s something in the biome feature settings or something, plus there might be a tag for blocks they can replace or something, and if they replace the block below with stone when it’s dirt that would have to be changed to holystone, along with making them more common)
They also seem to be called ‘Erosions’ now, rather than basins, the wiki page must have been changed at some point:
