Once you shift into a bat in vampirism, your height is locked to one block until you relog. For some reason, you start swimming as soon as you touch 1 block holes, and you suffocate as you swim. Version: Latest 1.12.

I've decided not to add compatibility for Vampirism, but I'll gladly take a PR if anyone is interested in implementing this.
