I kinda hate that in the vanilla game, the chat window automatically opens up whenever you lay in a bed, I don't really see the connection. Sometimes I'm rushing a bit, running (or flying with elytra) up to a bed and try to get in there as fast as possible and then accidentally type some characters (w, mostly) in the chat.

I think this mod is suited to tackle this issue, but correct me if I'm wrong. So the idea is to have an option that makes it so chat doesn't automatically pop up when entering a bed. 'Hide chat when in bed' or something. Maybe to make things clear, the existing 'Hide chat' option could be renamed to 'Hide chat completely' or something like that.

Hm, not sure whether this is fully in scope. I'll consider it. Are there any similar tweaks you'd like to see?

Not sure about similar tweaks. But I was thinking that a different approach, to maybe make this idea suit AutoHUD more, could be a "clean bed experience". You'd hide the entire HUD when inside a bed. The reasoning behind it is as follows: The chat is not logically linked to the bed, and the only other HUD element is the button for 'Leave Bed', which action can also be accomplished by pressing the Escape key. The way it (in my mind) suits the mod is more along the "clean/hidden HUD" angle.

For chat, I don't have any other tweaks in mind.
