Hiding redstone wire with block broken or documented wrong

I can't for the life of me figure out how to hide redstone wire. I tried right clicking it with a block in the hand as in the documentation. But that only makes me place the block next to the wire or not at all. I tried shift right click, alt right click, ctrl right click, using thermal expansion and AE2 covers but none of those worked either. Is it even implemented at this time?

Tooltip: Click with block in left hand to cover.
left hand = offhand

This was reintroduced in v5.1.3 for MC 1.11.2 and v6.0.2 for MC 1.12

Ah shoot sorry, I would've sworn I read everything in the tooltip but evidently not. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction though.

I do seem to have stumbled upon a different (visual) glitch, although its more of a mod conflict than an bug. Some Chisel blocks seem to cause problems when used to hide redstone wire, it turns the block invisible.

specifically using chisel MC1.23-0.1.1.26 and Automated redstone 6.1.0 on forge 14.23.2.2611, noticed it with the factory block line of chisel first, some blocks are completely invisible (like "Massive Hexagonal plating" and "dotted rusty plate") on the ones with an animated side the textures work on that specific side, the other textures are still invisible for that block.

I'm running a ton of other mods so I might try it tomorrow on the latest forge with just chisel and automated redstone (+possible dependencies). It doesn't seem to have to do with connected textures or something like that, tinkerers clearglass works fine. If I can reproduce the problem tommorow in those conditions, should I make an issue ticket or is this type of compatibility development on ice at the moment? Don't want to dictate the direction of your project ;) , which is awesome btw!

Well, the texture glitches things with Chisel are probably one of the things I would call "unfixable" because the blocks that are shown invisible probably use special rendering I can not mimic in my mod in a general way that works with any block from any mod and without adding tons of dependencies as well as insane effort to hack all that in.

Eh yea than it aint worth the effort, kinda expected something like that ๐Ÿ˜‹
