Blood Altar only rendering one side of the items in them (1.2.0 beta 13)

In the latest beta any items (not blocks) in the blood altar seem to only render one side. By this I mean when they are spinning one side appears fine however when it turns and should start showing the other side, there is nothing for a few seconds until it shows the first side again.
