Since I plan to upload some new mods soon, I figured I'd also upload some old ones I made for private server events! Please understand though, this means this mod is for an older version (1.16) only, and likely won't be updated in any way.

Isn't it kinda wild that there are so many "more fuels" mods, yet so few of them have any kind of "briquette" theme, despite how common that is irl? Anyway, here's one!
In real life, "charcoal" briquettes are not made of charcoal at all. They are a blend of coal dust, sawdust, and a binder material, pressed into pellet shapes. Sounds more like "self-charring coal" than "charcoal", to me. This isn't renewable, and imo, doesn't "feel very Minecraft". The Charcoal Briquettes in this mod are made from Charcoal, with a bit of Clay as a binder:
Each one burns for long enough to smelt 8 items, like the Charcoal they are crafted from. This still isn't renewable, but don't you worry. This is just how you will get your first few briquettes. You see, Charcoal Briquettes can be used to craft further Charcoal Briquettes!
Finally, a use for all those plausibly-flammable junk items you have laying around! This .gif hardly shows the full list of valid items, btw. If its a small item or block that you could probably set on fire irl, you can craft a pair of Kindling Bundles with it. There is a new item added for this purpose as well, the Leaf. Leaf items can be obtained twofold from any type of leaf block. If you're mad enough to put mending on shears, trees can now be used as a very powerful and renewable supply of fuel!
Don't have enough String to make this practical? That's okay! You can also bind your Kindling Bundles with Bamboo Fiber:
Unfortunately, this Bamboo Fiber isn't strong enough to replace other uses of String.
Once you reach the Nether, more fuel options are opened up to you:
The Glowing Nether Brick is essentially a thermal battery, allowing you to take the smelting power of lava (100 items) and transfer it to a stackable item. They are consumed in the process of burning them (because them leaving behind a regular Nether Brick or something would defeat their stackability), but hey, its only a Nether Brick.
Alternatively, you could continue adding heat to them using magma blocks, and craft a Nether Briquette! These guys burn for long enough to smelt 666 items.
Compressing Nether Briquettes further, with a source of ignition, may result in an Eternal Flame. These "Eternal" Flames are not actually eternal. They aren't even as "eternal" as those in some other fuel mods, only being able to smelt 10,000 items. But lets be honest... insanely long burn times aren't a very good way to do "infinite" fuels anyway. Break the furnace, and that fuel is lost forever. What makes this Eternal Flame special, is that you can feed it:
Instantly, a smelting time of 8 items is turned into 10,000! Keep one in your storage, for further feeding whenever lots of smelting needs to be done. Don't worry, he won't eat your items when you aren't looking.
You can also turn your spare Glowing Nether Bricks into a couple of vanilla-y decorative blocks:
These blocks aren't fuels themselves, but they do glow & burn permanently like Netherrack.
Speaking of Netherrack, while its supply is vast, it is not actually renewable. If you wanna fulfill your dreams of manufacturing infinite Nether Briquettes, I'd recommend using this mod as well:

Happy smelting!
yes, this was made using MCreator.
