Currently, a lot of block categories have significant thematic overlap, e.g. factory blocks and technical blocks or futura blocks and laboratory blocks.

Some of these categories were limited by the GUI in earlier 1.7.10 and earlier, since it only had so many slots. With the GUI change, a single block type can now have a lot more variation, meaning it might make sense to merge some categories of newly introduced blocks.
