perhaps adding a dedicated snow plough block that only removes snow. using the normal plough blocks will remove rails if the train crosses over a set of points, the mechanical roller wont break the rails but it also doesn't clear the snow. therefore there is a solution add a variant of the plough that only clears snow

alternatively see if you can make the mechanical roller clear snow, it clears 2 tall snow piles but not 1 tall
