Hi, from what I've seen, the Create API has been updated but it's no longer functional, but it wasn't working before, then they updated the API again, and now we're waiting for the Steam 'n' Rails creator to update the mod to use the new API, is that right?

commented

By the way, what's funny, but nobody talks about, is that when you use the mod on a server, it crashes, but only on Linux. On Windows, there are no problems.

commented

The PR to fix the API has not been merged upstream, however, the 1.6.12 version of SnR will fix this bug regardless.
Your assumption that only Linux crashes is false. A player on my server is crashing with Windows 10, I run both MC and the server on Linux and it works fine. I only get the crash when I throttle MC to two threads.
The suspicion that only Linux does it has been raised more than once and hasn't been proved yet either. Moreso, I've debunked it with what I said above.

commented

Okay, I see, thank you. Regarding Linux, I haven't tested launching the client; I was only talking about the server side. Personally, with the same version of Java, the same version of Forge, the same files, etc., it only crashes on Linux. I've tried several distros. It's funny that it doesn't crash on Linux for you. Also, do we know when version 1.6.12 will be released? I'd really like to play Minecraft with Create again, but I'd also like to be able to add Steam 'n' Rails. In theory, couldn't I download the sources from the current branch, make the pull request myself, and build the mod?

commented

Sorry to ask, but could you give me the updated .jar file? I know I could do it myself, but sometimes it's a little more complicated than it seems. If you agree, here's my Discord: haricovert_

The commit has been made and put into the 1.20/create-v6 branch, however the devs are working to sort out the rendering issues with bogeys, so I don't think 1.6.12 is coming out before they fix that. However, you can build it, and it should work fine. I've had it on my server for the last week and a half, because I wanted to get rid of my friend's crashing.

commented

I don't intend to sound derogatory, but if you don't know how to compile a mod, you probably shouldn't have the compiled, "in-dev" version. Sorry, won't do.

commented

Being mean for nothing 🥀, instead of just being helpful. I can do it but it's not my goal I just want to play chill at minecraft, it doesn't cost anything since you already have the file.

commented

My assumption is that he actually is trying to help by you getting to know with mod compiling since you are requesting for a dev build. If I were you, I'd just compile it.

commented

I've been trying to ompile the in-dev version to fix the same issue so I can use it for my personal world, Does anyone have any kind of guide that would help me get to know how to do that?

commented

First of all, you will need to have set up a java environment. After you have downloaded all the files from the main page (on pc, it is code and then download zip), depending on your platform, on windows, type cmd in the adress bar of the unzipped folder you downloaded and in cmd, type "gradlew build". However on linux, you will have to use terminal to cd the directory and then run "./gradlew build"

Hi, sorry to ask since iii dd read the responses, but i´m still confused. I want to install SnR for my server whit create 6.0.6 but i´m not sure which version i should download or if it causes issues. Occasionally, it makes my server crash, and on the cliient side i get an error message saying that create failed to load. s it possiible to fix this by installing a specific version of SnR, or should the latest version of SnR work?

commented

I am sorry to inform you that bugs tagged #xxx (x represents numbers), are fixed one by one and the only way to have this specific error fixed (reference to the first message of this issue), is to wait for version 1.6.12 or build the dev version yourself (reference to my previous message)

commented

To be clear, the bug is currently fixed, but the files you can download from Curseforge or Modrinth, for example, are not yet corrected, as these are earlier versions of the mod. On the 1.20.1/create-v6 branch, the fix to resolve the crash is already available, but you can't download a .jar file directly from GitHub, you need to compile the mod first. To do this, you can refer to these explanations. On the other hand, if you have trouble compiling the mod, I recommend IntelliJ Idea (free for 30 days), which will be more visual and perhaps simpler for ordinary people. If I have time, I'll give you the detailed steps for compiling the mod with IntelliJ.

commented

Or if you don't care I could also give you the compiled mod directly, but you shouldn't accept a file from a stranger unless you know what you're doing.

commented

That's what I do too, I run my server on an LXC proxmox with backups just in case. For those who'd like to keep playing, I'd just like to remind you that there are apparently other bugs than this one, so make daily backups of your world, then I'd advise you never to trust a stranger, the mod could be malicious code in itself, so I'd strongly advise you to run your server in a docker container, an LXC or a server clean of any sensitive data, here's a link to download the compiled mod (last file commit). If I've made a mistake, please let me know.

for some reason, this build changed my skin to a create case? LMAO

commented

Oh, I must have missed that, I guess because it's a dev version and it's just client-side. Do any of you who also compiled the mod have the same "problem"?

commented

ImageI'm running a server, and my players are also reporting the same issue. They are encountering texture display issues when using the compiled version of the mod,as shown in the screenshot.Hopefully the 1.6.12 release will be sooner

commented

Maybe don't use a custom compiled version if you don't know what the hell are you doing next time (which most of you seem to not know other than Arid). It just creates unnecessary discourse.

Given that many people are asking for it, I've updated the file so that you have your normal skins. What amazes me is that there's still someone who keeps telling us that he's stronger than the others, that we're useless, that we don't understand anything, but who is incapable of helping the others who just want to play. Meanwhile, the only useless one is him.... Try to understand what the principle of open source is. Anyway, now you'll have your skins.

Jokes aside, thank you! You've made me and my friends very happy ^u^

I compiled my own and I'm having the skin issue; was it this method?
