I don't know how feasible this would be, but do you think it would even be possible to implement Serene Seasons compatibility, such that blocks could drop different things based on what season it is? I'm fiddling with the idea of having Pam's Spice Leaf crop drop different types of spices depending on what season it is.

This would actually also be useful in Hookt, where you can only catch certain fish in specific seasons, etc.
