The mod was working fine until the last update (3.0) on minecraft 1.19

I cannot reproduce this crash. Can you tell me what you have in your hand / what block you are looking at when you're crashing?

ETA: Could you also send me your config file if you changed any options? I wonder if it's some combination of options that leads to this.

I was able to reproduce it consistently;

It happens when you sneak and the camera lowers your crosshair from nothing (air) to any block while holding any type of tool
