also the footsteps and armor noises very quiet but waterfalls seem to be quiet loud which is how there supposed to be im assuming
In general the sounds are not as loud as things like zombie growls, etc. You can scale the volume of various sounds using the sound config dialog. You will need to map a hotkey in the control options, and while in game it can be activated. You can set volume scaling for each of the sound that can be played for the mod pack.
EDIT: Do you any other mods installed that affect sound play?
im using the new version but there doesnt seem to be a difference between 100-400 if i set it to 1 you cant hear it and 50 is less than 100 but 400 sounds the same as 100 or anything above 100 sounds the same volume if that makes sense
I am adding a general volume scale option that will adjust ambient sounds generated by Dynamic Surroundings. This may help. It will be located in the mod's config options page, or can be edited directly in the config file.
will it affect waterfalls? because there already very loud for me which i like while the ambient one is too quiet
Technically yes, but because of how the sound engine calculates volume there will be no practical impact.
The volume scaling you mentioned above makes sense. Which bird sounds are you referring to? There are some that are actually in looping tracks, and there are those that randomly generate. The ones that randomly generate will be placed up to 16 blocks away from the player, with greater distance scaling the volume downward (this is a minecraft mechanic). Also what other mods are in the pack that could affect sound?
the ones that randomly generate and are directional biased are fine i mean the ones that play left and right no matter what direction you look in the looping tracks
ive got sound physics remastered and thats about it for sound mods apart from this also fabric seasons in a forest in winter time theres no bird sounds at all from what ive tested
Yep - there would be no sounds in a vanilla forest if water can freeze if Fabric Seasons is in winter. Some of the other forests may have sounds, and there may be some additional random sounds that play. I will check into SF remastered. DS auto disables its enhanced sound processing if it is installed.
