When I initially created the mod that EBM ended up being a small offshoot of (in C&B addon form), I wasn't even thinking about localization. Then when I ported over the parts that became EBM, I was still just following what I had done before.
I know it's ideal to localize text (and I do in my other mods), but one of the main reasons I never did so with EBM (once I actually started considering localization) is that in many instances I want dynamic and very specific text. Another is that I often want manual text spacing and line breaks. These two things together lead to a very, very fragmented lang file full of sentence fragments (many full of %s
) specifically chosen based on English grammar. I don't know how common or how accepted such grammar-limiting fragmentation is among mods, but it struck me as discouraging at the time.
Certainly not all the text in the mod is fragmented, and I'm sure that even for the text that is, any translation is better than none for a non-English speaker. I'm sure that it would be well worth it to them (despite the high potential for garbled grammar), but it just didn't seem worth it to me at the time.
I'll consider at least adding adding some localization for the non-fragmented bits, but there's quite a bit of text in the mod, and it's alot of refactoring (and would be even more so for the fragmented parts).
