Corruption of water and lava generation

I just ran into a really weird issue with world gen and extrabiomes. It's hard to explain fully, so I've attached an image with what it looks like.
Our level seed is: 3650805142558818831
This screenshot was generated with just vanilla minecraft 1.4.6, NEI, and ExtraBiomes 3.7.0a. To reproduce, load up that world from that seed, and teleport yourself to any point north of center between 6100 and 6300 or so.
The bug appears to introduce an interference pattern of some sort to all water and lava source blocks inside that zone replacing the water/lava blocks with dirt. The rest of the world gen algorithms appear to be adding all the usual things to this (grass, flowers, the odd sugar cane). It does not replace air with these columns, so underground caves in the area aren't affected until you get down to depth 10 or so where it starts spawning lava lakes, where you again see the same interference pattern.
