Biome generation: Edging needed
keybounce opened this issue ยท 1 comments
Vanilla minecraft uses edging biomes to make smooth transitions between biomes. This was added to make sure that new biomes -- such as jungles -- could be added to existing worlds, and edging -- "-edge", river, beach, etc -- were added to prevent large discontinuities.
EBXL does not have that. I just went over to 512, 512, and found a sharp disconnect between old world generation and new world generation.
Old world had beach, taiga, and taiga-hills; new world was lush redwoods. Sharp cliffs right along the 512 lines.
This is in the overworld. I know that Myst ages have a similar issue because XComp wont (and for good reason) try to make biomes as smart as vanilla's hard-coding of special rules.
